GDPR and Handling of Personal Data
We always prioritize your privacy and protect your personal data. These details are never shared with third parties without your consent. We process your personal data to manage your contract and, with your consent, to accommodate your specific requests and personal preferences. We may also use your data to assist you in specific situations, with your approval.
When you rent an item from us, your data is stored for one month after the return of the item, after which it is destroyed. We use recommended antivirus programs and continuous backups to secure your information. Your data is handled internally only and is not shared with MEMIL AB's subcontractors without your consent.
Rental Terms and Conditions
- Risk Assessment: The renter accepts all risks associated with using the bike and does so at their own risk.
- Prohibited Activities: The renter must follow all agreed-upon and statutory rules, including traffic regulations. The following activities are prohibited:
- Lending or subletting the bike.
- Violating traffic laws.
- Consuming alcoholic beverages while using the bike.
- Leaving the bike unlocked or unattended.
- Only the drivers listed in the rental agreement are allowed to use the bike.
- Carrying passengers on the bike is prohibited. The cost for wheel alignment is 750 SEK.
- Unsafe Use: The company reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement at any time if these terms are violated. In the event of termination, the renter must immediately return the bike. No refunds will be given for unsafe or risky use.
- Condition at Return: The bike must be returned in the same condition as it was rented, except for normal wear and tear. The renter is responsible for any damage to the bike during the rental period, as per the price list of the Swedish Bicycle and Sports Retailers Association.
- Late Return: If the bike is returned more than 30 minutes after the agreed time, a late fee of 70 SEK per day and bike will be charged, in addition to extra daily rental fees.
- Unreturned Bike: If the bike is not returned, a retrieval fee of 200 SEK per bike will be charged.
- Early Return: Unused agreed rental time will not be refunded.
- Guardian’s Responsibility: For minors, the guardian is responsible for additional compensation. By signing this agreement, the renter releases Memil AB from any claims related to the minor's use.
- Locks and Security: All bikes have standard locks (except MTB and Racer) and one extra lock per 1-2 bikes for added security. In case of theft, the purchase value of the item will be charged, and you must handle this with your travel or home insurance. A police report and the keys must be submitted to us.
Loss or Damage of Bicycle Accessories
- Wheel alignment: 750 SEK
- Standard extra lock/key: 100 SEK
- Key for standard lock: 350 SEK
- Helmet: 200 SEK
- Bicycle basket: 250 SEK
- Front light: 150 SEK
- Rear light: 150 SEK
In case of a flat tire or other issues, return the bike to us for an exchange. For those cycling the Kattegattleden, we will try to meet you as soon as possible to fix or replace the bike.
Cancellation Terms
- More than 7 days before: No cost
- Between 7 and 3 days before: 50% cost
- Less than 3 days before: 100% cost
The deadline for cancellations is 12:00 PM.
Upon payment, all of the above conditions are accepted.
